Minutes for DKG Alpha Sigma Executive Board Meeting held on April 7, 2020, at 10:00 am Via Zoom conference call. Attendees were Deborah McDurmon, Laura Evans, Linda Porter, Sonja Glaser, and Courtney Page.
Dues for the new fiscal year are due by June 30, 2020. The question was raised as to who collects the dues: outgoing or incoming officers. We normally have a meeting to install officers and cannot due to Corona Virus. Incoming officer will collect dues and members will be encouraged to pay during Zoom conference meeting to be scheduled very soon.
State will decide if the Summer Conference will be held by May 15, 2020. Members are encouraged to go ahead and submit reservations in case the Conference happens.
The Maycie award was discussed. Five points are awarded if donations are made to six of the seven project options. It was decided to let Trish Stephenson and Sonja Glaser discuss and decide which six projects. Linda Porter asked if her donation to the Scholarship Fund counted and, yes, it counts.
We discussed a need for a formula to determine how much money we retain at the end of the year. Budgets for prior years should help us determine how much should be left in savings account.
It was decided to schedule a Zoom Meeting for the chapter sometime next month. This meeting will be used to touch base with members, brainstorm ideas for programming, and encourage members to send dues in for the year.
The chapter still does not have a 1st vice president, who is in charge of programming. If anyone has any suggestions, please submit the names. Sonja will think about it and let us know.
Members should be encouraged to make a donation to Brinkley Heights since Game Day was cancelled. We discussed if a Game Day should be scheduled for the fall to make up for the cancelled event. It was decided to just plan on next March for Game Day. It was discussed if we should mail cards to Game Day participants outside of Alpha Sigma to encourage donations to Brinkley Heights. We decided just to encourage members to make a donation via an email.
Respectfully submitted,
Courtney Page
