Alpha Sigma Planning Meeting and Plant Swap 5/18/19
Sixteen members met at Trish Stephenson’s lovely home for a very productive planning meeting, delicious refreshments, and brought home some beautiful plants on Saturday, May 18.
* Please send dues ($80) to Penny Powers by the end of this month.*
Deborah suggested Trish let her committee help with planning this year. We came up with lots of great ideas and made some firm plans at meeting, but if you would like to volunteer to host, facilitate or supply refreshments please let Trish know. We are required to have at least four meetings a year so we already go above and beyond! Members present expressed satisfaction with the frequency and diversity of programs.
Deborah expressed an emphasis on making Membership a priority this year. Invite prospective members to attend some of the upcoming meetings. We have two planned for this summer and a special one in December that would be ideal. Put brochures in schools and remember that Education majors in junior year of college are eligible.
We are responsible for for the October 2019 Induction Program and Ceremony. We hope to get a date and location asap so we can secure a speaker. Kevin Vaughn’s name came up due to the success of his address to our chapter; we earned lots of points towards Macie Award and our picture published in newspaper and Xi state publication! There are no duties for Alpha Sigma at the April 2020 Founders’ Day Celebration.

I am going to put this out there right now: please consider serving as treasurer, recording secretary, VP, or President in the next biennium. The work is very rewarding and “many hands make it light”.
