Happy 2018 Sister Friends! The weather has blessed us with a snow day. Teaching or retired, we will all love a snow day!
Linda sent the minutes of the Dec. meeting in December, but I don't remember forwarding them?! Thanks Linda! You can thank her by volunteering to be our next recording secretary. We can also show our appreciation to Penny for being our long serving Treasurer by giving her a break!
Nine of us met at Brinkley Heights on Jan. 6th. We enjoyed each others' company and worked on shelving library books, taking down and putting up bulletin board displays. The picture on FB is fabulous! Afterwards we explored the Crosstown Concourse and had a great lunch. Pat Spencer won the door prize.
Business meeting was a discussion of suggestions for speaker at Founders' Day celebration in April. I will have more details in February. Please contact Sheila Segerson if you can bring food to her house on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 5:30 pm. I also shamelessly begged for the aforementioned replacements; recording secretary and treasurer.
Would like to brag on our two new members, Courtney Page and Judi Sipowitz. Courtney hosted our Christmas brunch and it was great fun! Lots of joy in her lovely home! Judi is coaching the teachers at Brinkley Heights in practical literacy methods. She has been to Brinkley five times since joining DKG.
I appreciate all of you and your dedication to our special chapter of this important organization. Thank you for your participation!
Stay warm and I'll see you on Valentine's Eve. Ill bring the chocolate! 💞
