Dear Sister friends,
It is officially fall and the weather is about to catch up with that fact. School is in full swing and so are our sisters in and out of the classroom.

In the latest issue of DKG News survey results from Regional Conferences were published. The results of the same survey, informally taken at the last meeting, are very interesting:
Should there be a membership category for pre-teachers still in college?
Our group said (almost unanimously) No.
Would you attend if regions combined to have a joint regional conference?
We are willing to talk about it.
What would you eliminate from the conference?
The song if anything.
How would you describe our image projected by Society rituals?
Unfortunately dated.
Does advertising in educational publications affect the image of the society?
Yes, unanimously.
Which method of voting for elected Society leaders do you prefer?
One member one vote.
Do you think the DKG News should be published electronically online?
No.
Which kinds of information do you want provided by the society?
Educational trends and Educational legislation concerns.
At what level of DKG have you received leadership training?
Chapter.
We also voted unanimously to accept our new initiates! There will be a new member orientation and Initiation next month. Everyone is invited to both!
It is time to begin filling the board positions for the 2018-2020 biennium. Please consider your time and talents and how you can contribute them. Our sincere thanks to Deborah McDurmon for accepting the position of President!!! Trish Stephenson is on the Xi State committee for Programs; she gave us a rundown on that topic at our meeting as well as volunteering to serve as our chapter VP in charge of programs. Yay! We will also need a VP in charge of the yearbook, a new recording secretary, a new treasurer (Penny promised to help) and a new Membership chair. We need you to take one of these important places at the head of our chapter!
There is one more very special responsibility we require from everyone; a renewed dedication to supporting Brinkley Heights! We are reorganizing our efforts to contribute our time and resources to this wonderful school. Martha Baker agreed to head up the monthly contributions. We have already started with a donation of $250 for PE equipment. We will bring other needs to your attention throughout the year. We will also throw the most successful Game Day ever in March. If you would like to serve on that special committee, come on down!
Send your $80 dues to Penny Powers and $25 if you can attend the Initiation Brunch.
Thank you for everything!
Laura
