December 2020
Believe, Belong, Be strong
Where did the seasons go? It is December! It is the month of the winter solstice, Christmas, Kwanza, Chanukah, and the end of the year 2020. The trees are bare, the sky is gray, and the ground is frozen. But not us! We have work to do which gives us color and vitality!
Let us focus on why we chose education for our livelihood. What did we believe we could accomplish by teaching? Do we still have those beliefs? Some of us are still in the field but others of us are not. All of us can help early career educators by bringing an Amazon or Walmart gift card to our next meeting. The cards will be distributed to some early career educators for classroom supplies. Martha and Nancy have some educators in mind for the gift cards.
I am grateful I belong to Delta Kappa Gamma International, the Tennessee State Organization of Delta Kappa Gamma, and Alpha Sigma. With my membership, I can continue to grow and help others. Even though we are not having State in person meetings, I can grow through the various online workshops they provide. The many friendships, that belonging has given me, enrich me and make me a more fulfilled person.
My Alpha Sigma friendships help me be strong. You give me strength to be your president. Your belief in me allows me to accomplish more than I imagine.
